n Calgary, the Flames decided to go with the status quo. Good for every other hockey team in the League. Too bad they are suppose to be working for the Flames. Seriously, really? So I guess the Flames are telling us that it is alright to not make the playoffs. Okay, I am being a little harsh, but as a fan, I am very disappointed that there is not more heck to pay.

But at least the Calgary Flames are not run by the fans. In fact, I bet they really do not care what the fans like. But can you imagine what would happen if the fans were in charge: the Flames would have had 567 coaches, have traded Iggy, Kipper, Jbo 345 times and traded back for them 345 times. They would have brought up every player in the minors and sent every Flames player back to the minors. They would have pulled Kipper 56 in one game, and then would have given him a raise 56 times.

They would be on Prozac or uppers at all times, and sometimes both. Sometimes you need to be on both just to be a fan of this team. Seriously, this team was up and down enough times to make a yo-yo sick. At least we have a great sense of humour. We have to have. We are Flames fans.

In fact, what would happen if the fans took over the whole world of hockey? No doubt Bettman would be fired. I just wondering how long would it take. There would be millions of public notice of hangings of Betteman.

Can you imagine what the fans would do with divers? I think all the fines from the players' diving penalties would go back to the fans. This would be compensation from the players for their players' stupidity. What would the fines be? Let's say $1,000,000 per dive? The attendance would be sold out every game, in the hopes that a diving penalty would be called.

What would happen to the refs if the fans ran the NHL? Oh yes, fire them all, and then make them contestants on Wheel of Torture. Wait a minute, that might be a little drastic. So maybe we should put them on Smarter Than a 5th Grader, and watch them all flunk out. Or there is the humiliation of the newspapers having their mugs in the paper every time they make a bad call. I mean really, violence is never the answer, no matter how bad they are.

So let's see, we have handled the refs, the Commissioner, diving, so what is next? How about the GM'S not being able to do a trade without the vote of the fans? And any General Manager that gets turned down by the fans gets fired. This would eliminate the idiot GM.

Well, that's it. Wouldn't it be nice to have the Fans run the NHL?
